Learning Sciences: Composing Symphony of Logic

The Prep School, Aitchison College students attended a six-day Mathematics Summer STEM Camp from 26th to 31st August,2024 in Singapore. The camp was organized in collaboration with the International Kangaroo Innovative Learning Organization in partnership with Mosaic Play Academy.

During their stay at the camp, the boys learnt Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in a fun way. It enhanced their subject knowledge and skills. This camp was a multicultural experience, bringing together students from Pakistan, Singapore, and Serbia, allowing them to showcase their mathematical and engineering talents.

The highlight of the camp was the Go-Kart Challenge, in which the students after a tough competition won gold medals by assembling and successfully driving their karts by applying lessons in angles, measurements, and design.

This enriching journey not only enhanced our students’ technical skills but also fostered lasting friendships and collaboration.

Aitchison College organised a welcome dinner for the students of Gwyn, Saigol, Monnoo, Bahawalpur, Kelly, Godley, LJ, K&N’s, and Shirazi Houses. This significant event marked the beginning of the new academic year, bringing together boarders from different houses to develop camaraderie and unity.

Thursday Sports at Prep School: Shaping Future Athletes

Aitchison College Preparatory School schedules its sports every Thursday. It is a new start with two sessions of sports in the first half of the day. This system adequately caters to our boys' interests in sports and trains them to be fine players. By focusing on the cricket ball and striking it hard with the English Willow bat, dribbling the football towards the goal post, swinging their rackets in the air, jumping high to net the ball in the basket, and propelling themselves in the turquoise water of the school pool. It all boosts their morale and expands their energy, turning them into the best future players.

Aitchison College Inaugurates Monnoo House - A New Boarding Facility

Aitchison College inaugurated its latest boarding facility, Monnoo House, on Monday, September 2, 2024. The new house is a generous gift from Mr. Kamal Monnoo, a distinguished alumnus who attended Aitchison College from 1970 to 1978.

Monnoo House, designed to accommodate a new generation of Aitchisonians, is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to ensure its residents' comfort and holistic development. The house will play a pivotal role in nurturing the boarding tradition at Aitchison, known for fostering independence, leadership, and camaraderie among students.

Mr. Kamal Monnoo, during the inauguration ceremony, expressed his deep connection to the college and his desire to give back to the institution that played a significant role in shaping his formative years. “Aitchison College has always held a special place in my heart. Through Monnoo House, I hope to contribute to the continued excellence of this prestigious institution,” he said.

Dr. S.M. Turab Hussain, Principal of Aitchison College, extended his gratitude to Mr. Monnoo for his generous contribution. “The addition of Monnoo House to our campus is a testament to the enduring bond between our alumni and the college. This new boarding house will undoubtedly enhance the student experience, providing a nurturing environment that aligns with the values and traditions of Aitchison College.”

The ceremony was attended by faculty, students, alumni, and esteemed guests, marking another milestone in the college's 137-year history.

The Art and Design Department of Aitchison College, the Preparatory School organized the Annual Photography Competition on August 31, 2024. Over fifty students from E2, M1, and M2 took part.

The theme of the year was: "Micro Marvels." Students were invited to explore and capture the tiniest wonders of Nature. They were expected to focus on minute creatures, plants, and textures through their camera lenses and come out with something wonderful. The competition aimed to highlight the hidden beauty of the Divine. We encouraged our boys to capture the intricate aspects of our environment that in the busy humdrum of life often go unnoticed.
