Distinguished Audience Welcomes New Syed Babar Ali Library

A spectacular opening saw giant curtains unfurl from the new building roof before Syed and Mrs Babar Ali presided over the ribbon cutting and plaque unveiling with family members present. The Principal spoke of the new library's function and benefits, while paying rich tribute to the donor, Syed Babar Ali. Syed Babar Ali responded by stressing how much he owed to the College in his formative years and that "no one could ever give back enough to such an institution that must continue to evolve." Architect Faheem Ahsan Jameel explained to the audience how the new library also restructured the surrounding landscape, and how the building's modern design sat comfortably adjacent the two historic temples, thus merging seamlessly the past with the present. Overwhelming support and compliments flowed from an appreciative audience of Board members, ACOBA Executive, current donors, staff, and the elite of the business, political and legal worlds.
