AITCHISON 1ST XI WINS 30 OVER THRILLER AGAINST LSE 1ST XI

It took the lusty hitting of captain Altamash Abbas (12 not out) to get his team across the line in a gripping final over. Aitchison had always seemed to be in control of the match after its bowlers proved economical against a talented batting lineup, dismissing LSE for 169 from 28.5 overs. Ammar Quiyum 3 for 19, Ahmed Hussain 2 for 17, and Faham Ul Haq 2 for 37 returned the best figures. However, the run chase was lifted to 9 by the last over. Against the trend of very tight bowling, Altamash launched an on drive for six, falling just short of The Assembly Tree, then whipped the very next delivery off his toes behind square leg toward the Barry Block for another six. His cameo performance topped off solid batting efforts from Faham Ul Haq (34), Ali Badhsah (49), Usman Sohail 37) and Ahmed Husnain (28 not out). Aitchison reached 3 for 174 from 29.5 overs. The 1st XI remains undefeated.
